Shaanxi Fast Auto Drive Engineering Research Institute is located in Xi'an High-tech Development Zone. It was established in March 2011. It is a business unit directly invested and managed by Fast Group and operates relatively independently within the scope of authorization. It is the first scientific research institution established by the enterprise in the automobile component industry and is the “National Enterprise Technology Center” recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation and the General Administration of Customs. The fixed assets are nearly 300 million RMB.

Adhering to the enterprise spirit of "Unity, Pragmatism, Tenacity, and Pioneering", and carrying forward the research and development spirit of "Three Dare and Three Realities", the institute insists the product development policy of "improving the generation, developing the first generation, trial production, and pre-research generation" in the MT, AT, AMT, hydraulic retarder, clutch, reducer and wheel reducer, pure electric vehicle driveline system and other new energy products and has achieved remarkable success, with more than 800 national patents, and becomes the first-class automotive transmission technology and talent incubation base domestically.

The Research Institute has world-class experimental and testing equipments, an academician expert workstation, a postdoctoral mobile workstation, and a "Fast Gear Scholarship" in well-known universities such as Tsinghua University. By the end of 2017, the institute had 541 R&D personnel, 91.6% of which has bachelor degree and above, with a light staff structure and a strong academic atmosphere.
